We've created a charity campaign using social media to help us raise $1 million for charity.
Ashton Kutcher and CNN held a challenge to see who could achieve 1 million followers on Twitter first. Our challenge is to be the first to raise $1 million for charity with the help of Twitter and your tweeting!
The first ever tweetmyride campaign will be an exciting international collaboration between ourselves and 10 different charities from around the world. It will run for 4 months - launching on June 30th, 2009 and will run through to November 30th, 2009. Our fundraising journey will culminate in a grueling 4-day international mountain bike race in Costa Rica, which is held 11-14th November 2009, called La Ruta de los Conquistadores. This event is known to be the toughest mountain bike race on the planet, so stay tuned for some fun!
Our campaign won't be anything without you - yes you reading this now! You will be able to contribute a lot to this project in support of a charity close to you. We are going to need the help of every single person we can get, as we push ourselves to create something we wouldn't be able to do on our own. It's going to be a fun way to get to know other people and learn about the hard work charities are doing around the world, including what they hope for and what their goals are as they focus on a better future.

At the end of August 2009 we will be holding a social bike-riding event in Vancouver where people are welcome to join in to support our initiative outside the online world. It will be a great chance to meet others, enjoy a bit of exercise and relax afterwards at a BBQ as we bask in the beautiful summer weather we have in Vancouver right now.
